The purchasing department of NBCC has the responsibility for entering into external commitment with approved vendors and contractors based on proper purchasing procedures and established work practices.
The issuer of a contract or purchase requisition should determine the need for goods and services accurately describe what is required and authorize the expenditure through approved authority levels and forward the same to purchase department. The services provided and goods obtained shall comply with all standards. Codes and requirements prescribed by the law and by company requirements to ensure maximum benefit to protect the Health and safety of all employees and to protect the environment. This included detailing of appropriate loss control and environmental requirements.
The purchasing department will follow procedures and guidelines to purchase goods and services. This will include the requisition and award process with price competitiveness, the commercial terms, the resolution of claims, verifying the insurance requirements / warranty terms and purchase of goods and services.
